Centre for Advanced Microscopy (CAM)

The aim of the Centre for Advanced Microscopy
is to boost scientific research where light microscopy plays a central
role.
The CAM is one of the facilities of the Swammerdam Institute for Life
Sciences (SILS) and operates directly under the
section Molecular Cytology,
headed by prof. dr T.W.J. Gadella. The staff of CAM has the expertise,
skills and experience to give professional support and coaching to research
groups within and outside SILS. CAM has a complete range of microscopes,
image analysis and data storage equipment to facilitate scientific research.
CAM translates biological problems into microscopical solutions.
In addition to scientific collaborations with other research groups, CAM
works on the development of novel microscopic techniques that are essential
for new biological research. New microscopic techniques are being developed
in close collaboration with commercial companies.
